1. The Kristaps Porzingis era begins

After all the offseason drama regarding whether or not Kristaps Porzingis would remain with the Knicks, he entered Media Day with the attitude of starting over and forgetting past front office issues.

The Latvian big man addressed his thoughts on the franchise and desire to move on from the negativity during his talk with reporters.

"“I’m coming into this season with a fresh mind. It’s a new season. I want to leave what happened, I want to leave it in the past, The past is the past. I don’t want to talk about that no more. I want to talk about this season. I’m just excited to be here.” “I have faith in those people and I believe they want us to grow,” Porzingis said. “They want for me to be in a position where I can succeed. I’m excited. A lot of new things are happening. A lot of new people are here. There’s going to be a lot of changes. I’m coming in, as I said, with a fresh mind. I’m looking forward to this season.”"

The era of Prozingis is officially underway after the trade of Carmelo Anthony, and with that comes an opportunity to become a leader. Porzingis will be expected to make that ascent to become a All-Star, but must also learn to guide the rest of the team throughout the season.

The Knicks are ready for the new season and if a playoff appearance is in the future, it take an entire team effort, but Porzingis must be the unquestioned captain.
