4. Willy & Tim’s time to shine

The upcoming season will be completely about developing young talent to excel for the franchise’s future. The duo of Tim Hardaway Jr. and Willy Hernangomez are critical parts of this movement considering the strides already taken and the need for them to expand on them and potentially become stars.

Hardaway Jr. averaged a career-high 14.5 points per game on 46 percent shooting in 79 appearances last year for the Atlanta Hawks. He thrived after long-time shooting guard Kyle Korver was traded midseason to the Cleveland Cavaliers, propelling him into the starting shooting guard role.

Hernangomez averaged 8.2 points and 7.0 rebounds per game in 72 appearances last year, eventually taking over the starting center role for the Knicks. The troubles of Joakim Noah and chemistry with Porzingis helped garner Hernangomez attention around the league as a rising star.

Hardaway Jr. was confident during the press conference, letting everyone know just how ready the players are for the new season.

"“A lot of guys are hungry you can see this in the gym.”"

The Knicks will rely heavily on the duo moving forwards they focused on improving individually and working hard in practice.
