4. Griffin answers injury questions

Last season ended painfully for both Blake Griffin and the Los Angeles Clippers. Griffin injured his toe in Game 4 of their first round playoff series, which led to the team losing the series in seven games.

Losing Griffin in the playoffs last year was painful. However, there were concerns that Griffin’s injury would extend into the 2017-18 season. With the departure of Chris Paul, the team needed Griffin healthy more than ever before. An extended absence from Blake would torpedo their season. Luckily, Griffin put those concerns to rest:

It is difficult to understate how impactful this news is for the Clippers. Blake will be relied upon for much of the offensive load this season, both in terms of his own scoring and in terms of facilitating for others.

Given that some more pessimistic reports thought that Blake might not return until January, this report from Media Day is a huge sigh of relief.
