3. Hoping Bradley is more than a one-year fix

The Pistons sent Marcus Morris to the Celtics for Avery Bradley, in a move they hope provides answers for some of the areas that needed improvement last year — defense, 3-point shooting, ball-handling and leadership.

According to Pistons.com’s Keith Langlois, those were all clear strengths for Bradley. His 39 percent 3-point shooting and his ability to make plays off the dribble means he should fit right in with Van Gundy’s plans in Detroit.

The Pistons are hoping the Bradley and his family like Detroit enough to stick around after this season, when his contract expires. Players in contract year usually have high production.

With all of the positives Bradley brings to the table, there might still be a little underlying worry with fans. Plagued by the injury bug, he suffered a strained Achilles tendon last season.

Entering training camp Bradley is healthy and ready to contribute to his new team. The Pistons are hoping he stays healthy, signs a new contract and then sticks around for a little.

During Media Day interview Bradley discussed the growing camaraderie between the Pistons.
