With the upcoming season rapidly approaching; here are the five main takeaways from the Chicago Bulls 2017-18 Media Day.

The Chicago Bulls are coming off a season in which they advanced to the playoffs for the eighth time in 10 years. The other side of the story is they have been past the second round just once during that span.

So rather than continue to remain competitive enough to be playoff contenders, the front office decided it was time to start over from square one. Gone are the Three Alphas, Jimmy Butler, Rajon Rondo and Dwyane Wade.

In their place is a roster full of young players eager to prove they belong, which should make for a competitive training camp, even if most of the games they play this season will be anything but. The three players Bulls fans will be keeping a watchful eye on are Zach LaVine, Kris Dunn and Lauri Markkanen – all of whom were acquired in the draft-night trade for Butler.

Each player brings a certain level of uncertainty to the mix. Will LaVine return to form after an ACL injury that forced him to miss 35 games last season? Can Dunn become a better shooter and ball distributor? Can Markkanen continue to build on the success he had in EuroBasket 2017?

The team’s annual Media Day is usually an exciting time for NBA fans as this signals the beginning of the season is just around the corner. So without further ado, here are the main takeaways from the Bulls’ Media Day as the team heads into training camp.
