The Washington Wizards kicked off the 2017-18 season with their annual Media Day. Here’s a look at a few takeaways from the event.

The Washington Wizards got their 2017-18 season started with Media Day and what an event it was. The superstars were out in full effect and Bradley Beal was very vocal about his feelings on Donald Trump.

On the basketball court, the Wizards have 12 returning players, so the goal this season is not starting out slow. They got off to a 6-11 start to the 2016-17 season before they righted the ship, finishing up fourth in the Eastern Conference.

The biggest focus in the early going will be on building team chemistry, especially as they will be without big man Markieff Morris for 6-8 weeks.

Optimism is in the air for the Washington Wizards and their roster of veteran guys. Guards Tim Frazier, Jodie Meeks and forward Mike Scott are newcomers to the team, but they’ve got experience under their belts.

The good thing about these guys is they seem to understand their roles going in. They are bench guys who know playing time is available and want to win games.

The gang is all back together for a new NBA season. The Wizards should look a lot more sound in their execution this season. Here’s a look at the five biggest Media Day takeaways.
