With Media Day and the start of training camp approaching Monday, most teams are busy signing players to training camp deals and trying to clear out openings as they prepare to whittle their rosters down to 15 players (or 17, if you include two-way contracts).
With the Memphis Grizzlies looking to clear out a roster spot and the Phoenix Suns in need of some 3-point shooting at a position of need, the two teams struck a deal on Friday afternoon.
As first reported by Arizona Sports‘ John Gambadoro, the Suns are acquiring sharpshooter Troy Daniels in the swap. The Vertical‘s Shams Charania added that Phoenix would receive a future second-rounder in the deal, while Gambo clarified the pick would be in 2018.
He also reported the 2018 second-rounder the Suns are sending to Memphis will be top-55 protected, making the final deal look like this:
