Phoenix Suns: Biggest strengths and weaknesses for 2017-18
Strength No. 2: Rebounding
Part of Phoenix’s ability to push the tempo lies on the boards. With strong rebounders in the middle like Tyson Chandler, Alex Len and Alan Williams, plus solid rebounders for their position like Eric Bledsoe and T.J. Warren, the Suns averaged 45 boards per game last year — the sixth-highest mark in the NBA.
Their 50.5 rebounding percentage ranked 10th, but where the Suns really excelled was on the offensive glass. Phoenix hauled in 11.9 offensive rebounds per game last year (fourth) and their 26 offensive rebounding percentage ranked sixth.

Those offensive rebounds provided the Suns with plenty of extra cracks at the basket, as their 14.9 second chance points per game ranked fourth in the association.
Chandler, Len and Williams will be back again in 2017-18. Some of the team’s top rebounders like Chandler or Bledsoe are not guaranteed to be on the roster past the trade deadline, but as currently constructed, the Suns will once again be a top rebounding team.
