NBA: 10 candidates for bounce-back seasons in 2017-18
10. Justise Winslow/Josh Richardson
Justise Winslow is going to be a very good defender, but a disappointing and injury-ravaged sophomore season has dialed back all the “steal of the 2015 NBA Draft!” talk. Last year, Winslow was limited to 18 games, and though he averaged 10.9 points and 5.2 rebounds per game, they came on atrocious .356/.200/.617 shooting splits.
As for Josh Richardson, his second NBA season was also hampered by injuries that limited him to 53 games. He averaged 10.2 points per game, but his efficiency plummeted from 45.2 percent shooting as a rookie to 39.4 percent. His 3-point efficiency also dropped from 46.1 percent to 33 percent.

The Miami Heat picked up Winslow’s team option for year three, but interestingly enough, gave Josh Richardson a four-year, $42 million contract extension.
For Winslow, 2017-18 will be about staying healthy, reaffirming his future as an elite two-way wing and proving he can actually shoot. Meanwhile, Richardson will be trying to bounce back with a more efficient showing from downtown.
