Los Angeles Clippers: 5 goals for Blake Griffin in 2017-18
1. Lead all power forwards in assists
Perhaps the most underrated aspect of Blake Griffin is his court vision. Each night, Griffin passed the ball 55.9 times, a mark higher than All-Star point guards Stephen Curry, Isaiah Thomas and Kyrie Irving.
The Clippers entrusted Griffin the ball so frequently because he continually creates scoring opportunities for his teammates. The only power forward to dish out more than the 4.9 assists Griffin averaged last season was Golden State All-Star Draymond Green.
No player benefited more off the passing of Griffin than DeAndre Jordan, as he shot 83.5 percent on field goal attempts setup by the former Oklahoma standout.
As a team, the Clippers dished out 22.5 assists per game, the 15th-highest mark in the NBA. The loss of point guard Chris Paul in a trade to the Rockets vacates 9.2 of those assists, creating plenty of opportunities for Griffin to establish himself as a premier passing presence in the frontcourt.
