Quick Thoughts

A year ago, there were several teams that threw big money at veteran players in an attempt to bolster their respective rosters. Rather than go down that road, the Bulls opted to invest in a group of unproven young players who will be vying for playing time at multiple positions.

Although this may make for a competitive training camp, don’t expect this team to resemble anything remotely close to being competitive on a nightly basis. With the lack of talent on the roster, combined with the Windy City not being an ideal destination for marquee free agents, the Bulls are hoping to improve their roster through the draft in the coming years, but even that isn’t a sure thing considering their missteps in this area in recent years.

Whether or not this strategy will pay hug dividends remains to be seen. What is certain, for better or worse, is the Bulls have finally chosen what direction they want to go in, which can be considered a positive, depending upon your perspective.
