Storyline 3: The arrival of Bogdan Bogdanovic

In a summer where the Kings added talent across their roster both young and old, the addition of Bogdan Bogdanovic is one that stands out for a couple of reasons.

While he’s technically a rookie by all intents and purposes, Bogdanovic doesn’t carry the same baggage associated with rookies, considering his vast experience of playing in top flight leagues and competitions overseas for both club and country. In an offseason where they targeted veterans, bringing in Bogdanovic stands above the fray being that he’s still scratching his playing prime at 25 years old.

Accomplishing everything he could while abroad, especially after winning a EuroLeague title last season with his former club Fenerbahce, Bogdanovic has made the jump to the NBA after signing a three-year, $27 million deal with the Kings this summer (the richest rookie-scale contract ever signed in NBA history).

With that, Bogdanovic is set to take on a new challenge to make an even bigger name for himself over here in the States.

By coming to Sacramento, Bogdanovic will have all the eyes of Kings fans on him as he adjusts to the NBA level throughout his first season. Although there will be a learning curve for him in some capacity, Bogdanovic may be very well suited to adapt to his new surroundings at a faster pace than some people may anticipate.

After all, Bogdanovic has proven himself as a splendid offensive player as he’s equally capable of playing with the ball in his hands or without it, is very creative in pick-and-roll situations and is an incredibly brilliant shot-maker.

By adding a player of Bogdanovic’s talents this summer, he stands as an intriguing wild card in the Kings’ overall rebuild. If all goes well as he settles into his NBA career, who knows how much more his star could brighten.
