Eric Gordon will once again play a key role for the Houston Rockets in 2017-18. What are some goals he should be looking to achieve?

If the Houston Rockets are going to achieve their goal of contending for a championship, then all of their players will have to play to their abilities. The team can’t rely solely on James Harden and Chris Paul. The role players and bench units will have to step up for stretches during the grind of the regular season.

Luckily for the Rockets, they have one of the better benches in the league, led by reigning Sixth Man of the Year Eric Gordon. Gordon transitioned into the role last year and got off to an incredibly hot start for the first couple of months of the season. Although he tailed off in the final months, he was still able to win the award and play a crucial role in Houston’s success.

Gordon’s ability to knock down 3-pointers as well as be a secondary ball-handler is extremely vital for the Rockets, and he will play a crucial role this season in the three-man guard rotation they will be using.

With that being said, there are certainly goals that Gordon should look to achieve as the Rockets now enter a season with expectations and pressure surrounding them. If Gordon is able to achieve these goals it will go a long way in helping them contend for a title.
