James Harden put together a season to remember this past year, becoming the first player to ever score over 2,000 points with 900 assists and 600 rebounds in a single season, en route to guiding the Houston Rockets to the Western Conference semifinals. Here are five goals for 2017-18.
James Harden is in a league of his own.
The five-time All-Star posted a career-high 29.1 points, 11.2 assists and 8.1 rebounds per game for the Houston Rockets last season, becoming the first player in league history to score over 2,000 points with 900 assists and 600 rebounds in a single season.
The 28-year-old took over the reins at point guard, guiding the Rockets to 55 wins in the Western Conference under head coach Mike D’Antoni and securing himself a hefty reward in the process.
Two months ago, Harden signed the richest contract to date this summer, agreeing to terms with the Rockets, on a four-year, $228 million extension to remain in Houston for the next six years. He now has the opportunity to team up with Chris Paul this season as the two stars join forces to help Clutch City capture its first championship in 22 years.
