3. Record 50-60 blocks

During his two collegiate seasons, Portis recorded 104 blocks in a total of 70 games. This nets out to an average of 1.5 per outing, which is respectable.

Unfortunately, this trend has gone south in his first two years with the Bulls. In 2015-16, Portis turned away just 22 shots. That number was significantly worse last season, as he managed to produce a paltry 11 blocks in 64 appearances.

Based on the production, it is safe to say Portis needs to improve on what he has done so far. The question is: Does he have what it takes to elevate his game to the next level in this area?

While he did record at least 50 blocks in each of his two years at Arkansas, his per-game numbers since he entered in the NBA have not been all that impressive (0.7 blocks per game). Make no mistake; posting 50-60 blocks over the course of a full NBA season isn’t anything to be excited about.

At the same time, it would be a dramatic jump from the numbers Portis has produced so far and it will be greater than the total of his first two seasons combined.
