2. Oklahoma City Thunder

In somewhat of a surprising move, the Thunder come in at No. 2 on this list.

We all know they have the one-man wrecking crew in Russell Westbrook. He put up historic numbers last season on his way to earning MVP honors. He will still have a lot on his plate this season, but he now has a fellow All Star to help him out.

George was traded to the team this summer in exchange for the overpaid Victor Oladipo and underperforming Domantas Sabonis. That’s a dang steal.

George is the perfect complement to Westbrook, as he can help space the floor and ease some of the playmaking responsibilities. He’s also one of the best two-way players in the league and will bring some more toughness to the defensive end of the floor.

The free agent signing of Patrick Patterson is also a good fit for the Thunder. He’s another guy who can space the floor and allow more room for Westbrook to operate.

The biggest question mark that remains it the hole at the wing position. Andre Roberson and George project to start at the 2 and 3. There’s already a big hole behind them, but if George spends a lot of time at the 4, as most people believe he will, it will create an even more massive gap.

Other guards on the depth chart include Raymond Felton, Terrance Ferguson and Alex Abrines — not exactly an inspiring bunch.

There’s a good chance one, or all, of those players steps up and proves they’re ready for big time minutes. But if they don’t, the Thunder have one of the most exploitable weaknesses in the entire division.
