Brooklyn Nets

Key additions:  D’Angelo Russell (trade), Allen Crabbe (trade), Jarrett Allen (draft) DeMarre Carroll (trade), Timofey Mozgov (trade), Tyler Zeller (free agency), Aleksandar Vezenkov (draft)

Key subtractions:  Brook Lopez (trade), Andrew Nicholson (trade), Archie Goodwin (free agency), Justin Hamilton (trade)

The Brooklyn Nets won’t be that much better in 2017-18, but they’re certainly more interesting after adding D’Angelo Russell to Jeremy Lin in the backcourt, drafting Jarrett Allen and adding some 3-point prowess with Allen Crabbe and (fingers crossed) DeMarre Carroll.

Sure they had to take on some truly horrific contracts like Carroll and Timofey Mozgov, but they also netted some extra picks in their dealings and despite having a bare cupboard, general manager Sean Marks is starting to make this roster interesting — just in time for that final first-rounder owed to the Celtics to be shipped off next summer.

On an unrelated note: How crazy of a summer was it that Brook Lopez finally being moved was barely a foot note?
