Atlanta Hawks

Key additions:  John Collins (draft), Dewayne Dedmon (free agency), Marco Belinelli (trade), Luke Babbitt (free agency), Miles Plumlee (trade), Nicolas Brussino (free agency/waivers), Quinn Cook (free agency), Tyler Dorsey (draft), Tyler Cavanaugh (free agency)

Key subtractions:  Paul Millsap (free agency), Dwight Howard (trade), Tim Hardaway Jr. (free agency), Thabo Sefolosha (free agency), Jose Calderon (free agency), Mike Dunleavy Jr. (free agency)

Remember a little over a year ago when the Atlanta Hawks should have blown up shop by trading Paul Millsap and Al Horford before losing them in free agency for nothing? Good times.

Re-signing Mike Muscala and Ersan Ilyasova is all well and good, but with Millsap, Howard, Hardaway Jr. and Sefolosha gone, now the Hawks face the uphill battle of a full-scale rebuild with Dennis Schroder as the centerpiece.

Rookie John Collins lit up NBA Summer League and Dewayne Dedmon was a great addition for a bottom-feeder but overall, the Hawks lost a considerable amount of talent and dropped Dwight Howard for basically nothing…actually not nothing, they get Miles Plumlee’s salary now!
