2. Warren better off the bench?

Throughout T.J. Warren’s career, he has been battling a series of injuries. Because of being sidelined so frequently, he hasn’t been able to establish himself as anything more than a good off-the-bench piece for the Suns.

To his credit, he is coming off his most productive year as a pro, but still only played in 66 games. It may not be wise to give the starting nod to a guy who has only been available for 153 of a possible 246 games in his first three seasons. Furthermore, of his 153 games as an available Suns player, he has only started in 64 of those games.

Josh Jackson has a basketball history of being “The Man” wherever he plays, and will be having those expectations of the same heading into his career with the Suns. You can argue that because Warren had his most productive season of his career last year, Phoenix should put him with the second unit, so that he can continue with those good numbers while being the go-to sixth man.

Josh Jackson showed on the highest stage last year that no stage is too big for him. Phoenix management knows that, and they also know another thing. Regardless of the year Warren is coming off of, he isn’t the most durable player. Jackson should enter this year as the starting small forward and show why he was the fourth overall pick.
