1. Make the All-Star team

Let’s bring things full circle, and focus once more on All-Star consideration. This goal might be a little too aspirational, simply by virtue of who Conley will be competing with.

Here’s the list: Stephen Curry, Russell Westbrook, Chris Paul, James Harden, Paul George, Jimmy Butler, Klay Thompson, Damian Lillard, C.J. McCollum, Gary Harris, Andrew Wiggins, Devin Booker and Eric Bledsoe (apologies if I missed anyone).

That’s a ton of very good to great players, but Conley belongs in that group. If he gets off to a hot start, and the Grizzlies perform above expectations, then there may be a real case for his first All-Star selection.

I’d be a little surprised if that happens, but if Memphis wants to be competitive, they’ll need a big year from Conley, and he’s good enough to deliver it. Striving to be an All-Star is a realistic goal.
