Washington Wizards: 5 goals for Markieff Morris in 2017-18

3. Staying physical and aggressive
It may only take a couple of games of watching the Washington Wizards to see that Markieff Morris brings a particular energy and attitude to the floor. He simply will not back down or shy away from contact. In fact, he seems to be embracing it more throughout his career.
Last year he set a career high for himself in fouls committed, and while that may not be a great thing, it can certainly throw opponents off their game. He committed 131 shooting fouls over 2,300 minutes of play and 254 total, averaging out to 3.3 personal fouls per game.
On the other side, he has also improved in not just giving contact but absorbing it. For the first time in his career during 2016-17, he breached a career-high free throw percentage of 83.7 percent. Prior to last season he was never able to get up to 80 percent and on average for all years prior, he shot 75.9 percent from the line.
Markieff Morris should continue to aim to be the bully of the Washington Wizards and give opponents a considerably more physical game compared to other forwards in the league.
