4. Adjusting to possible small-ball rotations

Head coach Scott Brooks hinted at the possibility of adjusting the role of Bradley Beal in the offense in recent weeks, but there may be plans ahead for Morris as well. While it seems every player can always improve his range and efficiency from downtown, it would make sense for the Wizards to try some different rotations.

That may call for Morris moving to the 5, Porter to the 4 and Kelly Oubre Jr. to the 3-spot. This rotation can turn out to be exceptional whenever it happens to be rolled out. However, Morris has spent a majority of his time at power forward, and the Wizards have only played him at center a total of 9.0 percent since joining Washington.

Prior to Morris playing in Washington, he did see a fair amount of time switching between forward and center during his time with the Phoneix Suns. From the 2012-13 season to 2014-15, he found minutes at center between 28-35 percent of the time he was on the court.

It may be a tall task asking Morris to be able to stretch the court while playing against some centers that would certainly oversize him and his 6’10” frame. In any case, it seems likely Morris will be up to the task as it would also push a faster pace with Marcin Gortat off the floor occasionally.
