Los Angeles Lakers: Ranking the team’s top 3 scoring threats in 2017-18

The Los Angeles Lakers will be relying heavily on these top scorers to turn possessions into points throughout the upcoming 2017-18 NBA season.

Heading into the 2017 offseason, one of the Los Angeles Lakers‘ main goals was to add some scoring potential to the roster. Based on the moves they’ve made in the last few months, I’d say they nailed it.

There is a plethora of scoring options currently on this Lakers roster. From the top to the bottom, there’s no lack of capable shooters who can rack up points in a hurry. That doesn’t necessarily mean it’s going to happen that way when the regular season rolls around (sorry to burst your bubble), but the potential is there.

The question here is who are the top scorers in Los Angeles this season? Which players will be counted on the most throughout 2017-18 to keep this squad competitive on the scoreboard? In the hopes of quelling any lingering concerns, I’ve put together my rankings of the Lakers’ top three scoring threats for the upcoming campaign.

We’ll obviously see plenty of fluctuation between now and April. Some guys will shine one day and look like scrubs the next. That’s what happens on a non-playoff NBA team. However, there will be a few standouts who prove they can be consistently counted on to put the ball in the cylinder.

With that in mind, here is how I would rank the Lakers’ top scoring threats with the 2017-18 season a little over a month away. Prepare to see these guys putting up plenty of points when things tip off in mid-October.
