1. Living up to his contract value

In case you still have not heard, Otto Porter Jr. was retained this offseason by the Washington Wizards and is now playing under a four-year, $106 million contract.

That turns out to be exactly 106 million reasons why Porter now must prove and justify his now-established value on the market. He is not off to a rough start considering his upward trajectory over the past two seasons. But now that he has the comfort of knowing he will be a large part of a playoff contending team for quite some time, he should have a whole new goal in place.

Otto Porter Jr. should have the expectation of playing at an All-Star caliber level and earn himself an All-Star selection. Despite his status as a third option on offense, it should not be surprising to see an increased amount of attempts over his average of 10 per game last season.

He is as dynamic from beyond the arc as is he from shooting from the field and also has tremendous defensive upside. Assuming he maintains his efficiency in all the areas we covered, it would be logical to see Porter have even better career highs by the end of the 2017-18 regular season.

Otto Porter averaged 13.4 points per game shooting a remarkable 51.6 percent per game from the field during the 2016-17 season. With that new contract, it’s time to elevate those numbers even more.
