Everyone in the NBA is pulling for Jabari Parker to heal quickly and have a long career in the league. If that happens and the Knicks trade for him, they would have yet another young talent to put with Kristaps Porzingis. Yet, before the Bucks agree to trade Parker, they would also want to dump salary at the same time.

Greg Monroe is a 27-year-old center with a stout contract the Bucks have wanted to send away, even now that he’s an expiring deal. With $17.9 million left on his deal, the Knicks would be bringing a veteran center onto a team with Joakim Noah. The aging Noah has three years and $55.6 million left on his contract and plays the same position as Monroe.

John Henson is another Milwaukee big man with a big contract and the Bucks would love to dump his salary as well. Henson is 26 years old with his own basketball limitations and $31.7 million left on his contract. Furthermore, both Monroe and Henson play two positions the New York Knicks don’t need help with: center or power forward.

Even if Jabari Parker were healthy, the Knicks should avoid trading for him if they have to take on Monroe or Henson. Finding the right trade for Carmelo will take time and the Knicks should be in no rush.
