Atlanta Hawks: 5 goals for Taurean Prince in 2017-18
3. Shoot over 50 percent from the field
Scoring opportunities for Taurean Prince were limited during his rookie campaign, as he was an afterthought in an offense predicated on rapid ball movement.
The Hawks ranked 10th in assists, dishing out 23.6 per game, with Prince becoming a benefactor off their passing ability. Prince made 114 shots during his debut season in the league, with 70.2 percent of those made shots coming off an assist from a teammate.
The Hawks didn’t deem it a necessity for Prince to create his own shot in the offense, but with a lack of proven scorers on the team, a higher field goal percentage is a must.
Prince shot 40 percent from the field and 32.4 percent from 3-point range. Attempts at the rim were infrequent, but if he can get more easy opportunities, his shooting percentage could skyrocket.
The Hawks are unsure of where their points are going to be coming from next season, but if Prince can greatly improve his accuracy, he could become a vital part of the offense.
