2. Avoid getting his shot rejected

Shot-blockers had a field day anytime they faced Dennis Schroder. Opponents managed to reject shot attempts from Schroder 113 times, just one fewer than Isaiah Thomas for the most in the league.

For all of the drives to the rim, Schroder dashed to the basket 12.1 times per game, resulting in 512 layup attempts, converting 54.5 percent of his attempts.

At the 2013 NBA Draft Combine, Schroder was measured to have a 34-inch vertical leap, enabling him to finish above the rim. While Schroder can dunk, he managed to do so just four times a year ago. His hesitancy to dunk the ball often leads to opponents swatting away his layup attempts.

If Schroder can reduce the amount of time his shots get rejected, it could limit momentum-building plays for the other team, plus allow him to tack on additional points to his scoring average of 17.9 points per game from last year.
