Weakness No. 1: Youth and inexperience

With such a young roster of talent, the Sixers could be short on winning experience in 2017-18. Coach Brown will need to inject his mindset into his young guys to build a winning culture.

The Philadelphia 76ers are third-youngest team in the NBA with an average age of 24.0 years old. For comparison’s sake, teams with the highest average age are the Cleveland Cavaliers, the San Antonio Spurs, the Golden State Warriors and the Los Angeles Clippers.

Part of that has to do with veterans wanting rings later on in their careers, but another part of it is having experienced veterans that know how to win on the roster.

Signing J.J. Redick and Amir Johnson are steps in the right direction, but their roles in Philadelphia will be limited at best. Redick could start to begin the season but there’s no guarantee how much time he’ll see with so many options in the backcourt.

The team exercised their option on forward Robert Covington for the 2017-18 season. However, Covington has been an underutilized but valuable piece in the Sixers’ rotation. They’ll need to work him in more if they hope to turn a corner.
