5. Shake Milton (Junior) – SMU

Shake Milton is the latest combo guard you should be acquainted with. At 6’5″ with a great wingspan and a career 3-point percentage of 42.4 percent, he has the tools to play in the NBA.

Given that nearly 92 percent of his threes were assisted last season, you can see him easily sliding into a spot-up role. Milton likely won’t be a full-time point guard at the next level, but he did up his average to 4.5 assists per game last season.

If Milton can continue to show an adept feel for passing and playmaking, he may be able to be the sole point guard on a second unit. With his physical tools and shooting, his potential really comes down to how hard he competes and defends.

As a junior, he has more responsibility and may blossom with more to do this season. If he continues to look the part of a defender that can guard either backcourt position, he might be worth a first round pick in 2018.
