2. Leandro Barbosa

Sure, the Phoenix Suns just waived Leandro Barbosa a few weeks ago. But with no one scooping up the Brazilian Blur and both Knight and Reed going down, it makes sense for both parties to consider an immediate reunion.

It was only a few seasons ago that Barbosa was serving a crucial role for the Golden State Warriors during their 2015-16 championship run and their historic 73-win season in 2016-17. Much like last year, the Suns don’t really need Barbosa to serve a big role off the bench, as became evident last season when he put up 6.3 points in only 14.4 minutes per game.

But on a young team that could use all the veteran leadership it can get, Barbosa makes sense. He’s a longtime fan favorite, he’d probably be willing to sign on for a minimum deal based on the lack of interest elsewhere and even at age 34, he’s still productive enough to fill the void off the bench until Reed is healthy.

It might be a bit awkward to broach the subject after just waiving him, but Phoenix will always be Barbosa’s NBA home. If the Suns aren’t convinced Millsap or Jok can fill that role, this is one obvious route they could take.
