The Chicago Bulls are officially in rebuild mode. Here’s a look at five bold predictions for the upcoming season.

The Chicago Bulls have been a playoff team in eight of their last nine seasons. Given the injuries that key players have sustained over that time, this should be considered a major accomplishment.

The bad news is they have been to the conference finals only once, and have suffered five first-round exits during that stretch, including a 4-2 series loss to the Boston Celtics in this year’s playoffs.

Taking that into consideration, it became painfully obvious the team had reached its pinnacle. So rather than attempting to remain competitive, the Bulls have decided to start over.

Gone are Jimmy Butler and Rajon Rondo, two of the better players from the starting lineup. Along with that, the Bulls also parted ways with Michael Carter-Williams and Isaiah Canaan as well.

Some of the new faces that will be in the fold include Justin Holiday, Zach LaVine, Kris Dunn and Lauri Markkanen, the seventh overall pick in the 2017 NBA Draft. The last three names represent the trio of players the Bulls acquired in a trade for Butler.

Since the Bulls will be starting from scratch, the likelihood of making the playoffs seem slim at best. However, there a few scenarios that could turn a potentially dismal season into an eventful one.

That being said, here’s a look at five bold predictions from the upcoming 2017-18 campaign.
