13. Bruce Brown – Miami

Buy up all the Bruce Brown stock before it’s too late. Brown is a returning sophomore to Miami, who will likely be one of the best players in college basketball this upcoming season. Though he just turned 21, he has a lot of what you want in a modern combo guard.

At 6’5″ with a strong build and decent wingspan, he can play either guard spot. Last season, he recorded just the second triple-double in Hurricanes history. He can do a little bit of everything and wracked up 1.5 steals per game as a freshman. As a sophomore, he’s expected to increase his production and possibly lead the team in scoring.

To do so and increase his NBA stock, he’ll need to become a better shooter. Brown was a bit under 35 percent last year, which isn’t awful. Still, there’s optimism surrounding his free throw shooting, which averaged out to just under 75 percent. By the middle of February, according to Draft Express, Brown was in the 91st percentile in catch-and-shoot efficiency.

Combine those with strong athleticism and high energy, and you start getting really excited. Brown has legitimate two-way potential on the wing and can be a secondary playmaker. If he can tighten up things like his handle and decision-making, he’s a lottery pick waiting to happen.
