NBA 2K18’s Sept. 19 release date is fast-approaching. Developer Visual Concepts has been putting out promotional material since mid-July. One form of material they’ve put out is slowly revealing players’ overall ratings.

The first reveals came on July 17, when six videos were posted on NBA 2K’s Instagram account. The videos show Joel Embiid, Paul George, Kyrie Irving, DeMar DeRozan, Devin Booker and Karl-Anthony Towns each guessing their ratings. The six were then told their actual rating by 2K Sports digital marketing director Ronnie “Ronnie 2K” Singh.

Portland Trail Blazers guard Damian Lillard received the same treatment, though his video didn’t post until Aug. 9. Singh announced his rating will be an 89. That ties him for fifth-best point guard among those that have had their ratings revealed.

However, he’s the only Blazer so far that has had his number released, leaving the remaining 14 players a mystery. This article will look to fill in those gaps until the game comes out or their ratings are disclosed.

The next five slides will go by position, projecting what each player’s rating could be in NBA 2K18. Projections are based on 2016-17 Player Efficiency Rating and win shares — which seem to correlate well with 2K ratings — as well as their rating at the end of NBA 2K17. It will be accompanied by a number in parentheses that compares the rating to their final 2K17 overall.
