5. Average a double-double

Steven Adams can take his game to a new level if he can average around 12 points and 10 rebounds a game. Adams was 34th in the NBA last year with 16 double-doubles. A goal for him will be getting into the top 20.

For being a big man on a team that competes year in and year out, he has not had a 10 rebounds per game season. Getting to that mark can be done this season because there are more available shooters on the team.

In the starting lineup, Russell Westbrook, Paul George and Patrick Patterson can all shoot the three-ball, which means more 3-pointers will be shot. That means there are more opportunities for the Adams to be able to rebound the ball.

With Adams being a more active rebounder it will not only take the pressure off Westbrook to average a triple-double again, but it will help the Thunder in the second chance category. More chances to score the ball will help OKC with pace of play against the other team. The opposition will never get into a rhythm. Averaging a double-double for Adams would be big for not only his career but for his team’s success.
