The Los Angeles Clippers have already overhauled their front office this offseason. They continued those changes by adding Michael Winger and Trent Redden.

The Los Angeles Clippers will be a drastically different team on the floor next season. Chris Paul and Luc Mbah a Moute — two of their starters from last season — are now members of the Houston Rockets. Jamal Crawford, Raymond Felton, and Marreese Speights are also now on new teams.

The Clippers have plenty of capable replacements courtesy of the Paul trade and free agency, but the team will clearly play differently next season.

However, the group on the floor will not be the only part of the franchise that will be full of new faces. The front office already added Jerry West and removed Doc Rivers from his old position.

The Clippers continued to add to their front office depth by agreeing to terms with former Cleveland Cavaliers executive Trent Redden as their new assistant GM. The team also reportedly made an offer to current Oklahoma City Thunder executive Michael Winger to be their new general manager.

The Clippers already made the most important front office move of their offseason by removing Doc Rivers from power. These new signings will help the team’s front office build going forward as the team retools around its two star big men. With two experienced new voices in the front office, the team seems to be heading in the right direction.

New Faces, New Voices

Michael Winger has not agreed to terms with the Los Angeles Clippers at the moment. However, reports indicate that the Clippers fully expect him to accept his new contract.

More from LA Clippers

Winger has spent the last seven years as the team counsel and assistant general manager of the Oklahoma City Thunder. He is expected to work under Lawrence Frank, the presumed new leader of the Clippers’ front office.

Trent Redden has more name recognition than Winger despite presumably being under him in the new front office. Redden joins the Clippers after being second in command under David Griffin in Cleveland.

While Lawrence Frank is relatively new to basketball operations after a long coaching, both Winger and Redden have years of experience in successful front offices. Adding the wisdom of these two long-tenured executives will clearly be a boon to Frank as he continues to learn on the job. Jerry West’s decades of experience will certainly help Frank along in the process. However, Winger and Redden can provide more day-to-day expertise for Frank to rely on.

The Los Angeles Clippers will have a lot of new faces next season. Their new front office voices bring years of training to a changing franchise. Even if these executives are new to the Clippers, they are certainly not new to life in an NBA front office. That experience will be vital to a team and an executive group that is in the midst of rapid change.
