With training camp just around the corner and the start of the regular season less than two months away, power ranking the Boston Celtics’ top five players seems appropriate.

As you probably know, this could be a big season for the Boston Celtics. They’re coming off an impressive 2016-17 campaign that saw them finish first in the Eastern Conference. Although they fell short of the NBA Finals, the outlook for 2017-18 has to have this franchise excited.

So many things went right for the Celtics since their ousting from the playoffs back in May. They secured the top pick in the 2017 NBA Draft, only to trade down and still get their guy at No. 3. Then they convinced Gordon Hayward to join their cause via free agency. On paper, this Boston team has the makings of a contender.

However, with training camp and the regular season tipoff still a ways down the road, we’ll have to wait to see how far this Celtics squad can go. Instead of sitting here twiddling our thumbs, though, let’s take a look at how this roster currently sits with some player power rankings.

Let’s clear one thing up — this isn’t a ranking of their best players, but rather a ranking of the players with the most momentum right now. Don’t lose your marbles if your favorite player isn’t atop the list.
