5. Boston Celtics

One of the reasons why Wade opted in on the second year of his contract is because he is owed $23.8 million. Considering the financial sacrifices he made during the Big 3 era in Miami, no one could blame him for wanting to collect one last pay day before his career is over.

Now that the Bulls are in total rebuild mode and he’ll get his money, perhaps Wade has softened on that stance a bit and would rather play for a contender compared to being on a team with no chance of being in the playoff race.

Although the Celtics were eliminated by the Cleveland Cavaliers in five games, they are fresh off a 53-win season, which was good enough for the best record in the Eastern Conference. With the addition of Gordon Hayward, the Celtics are one of the few teams in the East that is capable of giving the Cavs a run for their money.

Adding Wade to the mix won’t necessarily help the Celts leapfrog over the Cavs, but at least Wade would be playing for a ball club that is primed for another deep postseason run.
