Weakness: 3-point shooting

OKC was dead last in 3-point shooting percentage last year. Though they got better in that category with some trades and signings, they do not have enough 3-point shooting to compete with teams like the Houston Rockets or the Warriors.

They are the cream of the crop when it comes to 3-point shooting. Stephen Curry is known as the best shooter the NBA has ever seen. The Rockets as a team were breaking records when it came to the 3-point shot. OKC has some new firepower from deep, but perhaps not enough to directly compete.

Patterson offers the best 3-point shooting option at power forward since Serge Ibaka played there. He had 94 3-pointers made last season, which would’ve been good for third on the Thunder last season behind Westbrook and Victor Oladipo.

The Thunder may have to make a trade for a 3-point specialist during the All-Star break to help take the team to another level. A player like Danny Green can help the Thunder, and he’d be a huge asset on defense as well.
