8. Ricky Rubio (PG) — No. 5 pick in 2009 NBA Draft

Career stats (with the Timberwolves):  353 GP, 10.3 PPG, 4.2 RPG, 8.5 APG, 37.5 FG%, 83 FT%

Ricky Rubio played for the Minnesota Timberwolves during a very tough time for the franchise. He was drafted in 2009 with the fifth overall pick. The team never put it together and he played a role in two separate rebuilds. Despite his loyalty, the Wolves traded him to the Utah Jazz to create cap room during the 2017 NBA free agency.

Rubio is a classic pass-first point guard. The biggest knock on his game is his shooting ability. He continually struggled to find a rhythm offensively for the Timberwolves. That did not stop him from contributing to the team though.

During his six-year career with Minnesota, Rubio averaged 10.3 points, 8.5 assists and 4.2 rebounds per game. The Timberwolves dealt Rubio after the best season of his career, where he averaged 11.1 points and 9.1 assists per game — career highs in both categories.
