Career stats (with the Timberwolves): 970 GP, 19.8 PPG, 11.0 RPG, 4.3 APG, 49.1 FG%, 77.9 FT%
Kevin Garnett is the clear No. 1 draft pick in Minnesota Timberwolves franchise history. Garnett was drafted fifth overall by the Wolves in 1995. KG is a future Hall-of-Famer and is heavily decorated. He is a 15-time All-Star and won the MVP award in 2004. In addition, he is a 12-time All-Defensive player in the NBA. Garnett got it done on both sides of court and gave his all on every possession.
Throughout his 20-year career, KG averaged 17.8 points, 10.0 rebounds and 1.4 blocks per game. His best season came in 2003-04 season, when he averaged 24.2 points, an NBA-high 13.9 rebounds, 5.0 assists and 2.2 blocks per game.
Garnett came close but was never able to bring a championship to Minnesota. He left the Timberwolves in 2007 to play with Paul Pierce and Ray Allen for the Boston Celtics. In 2008, Kevin Garnett won an NBA championship and there was not a single Minnesota Timberwolves fan that was rooting against him. After the win, he dedicated the championship to “Sota.”
Garnett ended up finishing his career where it all started. In 2014, Garnett returned to the Timberwolves where he played his final two seasons. It was an excellent way to finish an amazing career. Kevin Garnett’s final year was Karl-Anthony Towns’ first year in the NBA. The best player in franchise history officially passed the torch 20 years later.

The Minnesota Timberwolves’ top 10 list isn’t as strong top to bottom as other teams. They have made a lot of poor draft choices over the years, but do have a decent top 10 that is headlined by Kevin Garnett. Garnett alone makes it a solid list. With so much young talent on the current roster, this list will look very different in the coming years.
