Minnesota Timberwolves: Top 10 NBA Draft picks in franchise history
2. Karl-Anthony Towns (C) — No. 1 pick in 2015 NBA Draft
Career stats (with the Timberwolves): 164 GP, 21.7 PPG, 11.4 RPG, 2.3 APG, 54.2 FG%, 82.4 FT%
Karl-Anthony Towns’ start to his NBA career is as good as any general manager could ever ask for. The Timberwolves took Towns with the first overall pick of the 2015 NBA Draft. This draft picked shaped the future for the Timberwolves and has them in an amazing position heading into the 2016-17 season.
Towns made an impact immediate during his rookie season, averaging 18.3 points and 10.5 rebounds per game. KAT did not disappoint during his second campaign either, improving his numbers to 25.1 points and 12.3 rebounds per game.
He is the current face of the franchise and one of the most dynamic young players in the NBA. Posting All-Star numbers this season, Towns was snubbed by the All-Star team. He is expected to play with a chip on his shoulder and show why he is in fact an All-Star. Towns has the potential to challenge the No. 1 player on this list one day, but for now we won’t go there.
