New York Knicks: There’s only 3 ways the 2017-18 season will go
By Eric Snyder
The New York Knicks have only a handful of good options left to make the team better. Similarly, there are only three ways this upcoming season will go.
When the New York Knicks begin next season, the future will still remain uncertain. Many teams in the NBA start the year with plans to overtake the Golden State Warriors. However, the Knicks are not one of those teams.
Instead of having a singular focus on winning, the Knicks always find a way to complicate the situation. There seems to be a renewed focus on rebuilding in New York, but fans have heard that before.
Steve Mills and Scott Perry find themselves handling a ticking time-bomb trying to choose which wire to cut first. Make a move on Carmelo Anthony? What about Kyrie Irving? Should they include Kristaps Porzingis in trade discussions? Do nothing?
No matter how Knicks management chooses to go forward, it will be criticized on a national scale. Furthermore, if the past has taught us anything, it’s that James Dolan will make an appearance. It will be an exciting season, but that excitement will manifest itself in a few different ways.
The possible outcomes for this season vary from good to bad to everything in between. There are likely three different ways this season can turn out. Unfortunately, the first one is both familiar and horrible.
