Chicago Bulls: 5 most intriguing games in 2017-18
4. Oct. 21, 2017: Bulls vs. San Antonio Spurs
The Spurs were probably the only team that had a legitimate shot at challenging the Golden State Warriors in the 2017 NBA Playoffs. Those odds went by the wayside, however, once Kawhi Leonard went down with an injury in the opening game of the Western Conference Finals.
As has been the case the past few seasons, the general public tends to overlook a Spurs team that flies under the radar for the most part. But with a healthy Leonard, along with Pau Gasol and LaMarcus Aldridge, the Bulls will surely have their hands full in this matchup.
Surprisingly, history is on the Bulls’ side as they have knocked off the Spurs at the United Center in each of the last three seasons. The difference is the Bulls had Jimmy Butler in the lineup in those games. Without their leading scorer and shot-maker in the fold, don’t expect any miracles in this one.
Not only will the Bulls drop these first two games, it is quite conceivable they start the 2017-18 slate with an 0-3 mark, as they will travel to Ohio to take on the Cleveland Cavaliers in the third game of the season.
