New York Knicks: 5 most intriguing games of the 2017-18 season
2. Houston Rockets
HOME – WEDNESDAY NOV. 01 8:00PM EST
The other team deep in discussion to acquire Anthony is the Houston Rockets as they continue to add pieces for a potential title run. James Harden finished second in the Most Valuable Player race last season, and will be joined in the backcourt by perennial All-Star point guard Chris Paul. Anthony could possibly be the last piece needed for that run and if it happens. like mentioned before in the Cavaliers matchup, the New York crowd will welcome him back in a special way.
The game will be receiving the national television treatment on ESPN in hopes of the Anthony deal happening and to see the follow-up performance from Harden. The Rockets super star put on an all-time triple-double performance on New Year’s Eve 2016, torching the Knicks for an amazing 53 points, 17 assists and 16 rebounds. Harden tied Wilt Chamberlain for the highest scoring triple-double in NBA history further growing his legend while sinking the Knicks.
A highly charged Rockets offense will be looking to steam roll past the Knicks with or without Anthony, and a highly spirited performance from New York’s young core is essential. Tim Hardaway Jr. made the big pay day this offseason and will have to earn it right away battling Harden on both ends of the court for better or worse.
