2. Get his confidence back

Anyone who saw Giles at Duke saw a player struggling to maintain any confidence. He had some spurts throughout the year of solid outputs, but he offered hardly anything aside from rebounds and the occasional block. He managed less than 12 minutes per game.

Giles did, however, finish over 71 percent of his attempts at the rim, per Hoop-Math. Playing to his strengths will help his confidence. He needs to keep things simple.

Giles doesn’t need to start playing like he did in high school. Sadly, like MVP-season Derrick Rose, that player is probably never coming back. Those expectations shouldn’t and probably don’t even exist within the Kings organization.

However, the swagger and confidence that used to ooze from him, that’s what he needs. It’s missing big time. Even if it’s just confidence that he can perform the duties of a high energy big without a ton of skill, that’s a step in the right direction.
