The general consensus is that the Los Angeles Lakers don’t boast the best of rosters in 2017-18. Despite that, there’s plenty of underrated talent at the team’s disposal.

Let’s be honest — the Los Angeles Lakers are nowhere near contention heading into the 2017-18 campaign. It’s going to take some more time and significant spending before we can start putting “Lakers” and “NBA Finals” in the same sentence again (apart from this one).

Still, that doesn’t mean there isn’t intriguing talent on this roster. We know about some of the big names like Lonzo Ball, Brandon Ingram and Kentavious Caldwell-Pope. However, there are also some underrated options on the roster who deserve more credit than they get.

Not all of them are little-known players, though. Just because a player is underrated doesn’t necessarily mean they can’t be a starter or even a former All-Star. It just means that the average fan doesn’t respect or understand the value that player brings to the team. Especially for an oft-overlooked team like the Lakers, there’s bound to be some of this underrated ability on the roster.

Instead of babbling on about it, let’s take a look at these underappreciated players currently on this Los Angeles roster.
