3. Become Paul Millsap’s favorite rookie

Veterans in the NBA are so underrated. It’s not just about team culture, but the impact they can have on younger players. Given Millsap plays the position Lydon is best suited to play, what better pro on the Nuggets to learn from?

If Lydon ends up in the G League, his access to Millsap will significantly decrease. Luckily, Millsap probably is just a quick text away. Lydon shouldn’t blow up his cell like an ex, but keeping a line of communication and developing a friendship will really help in the long run.

Even if Lydon doesn’t stay in Denver, Millsap is the type of player and professional he should model his game off of. The former Atlanta Hawk isn’t amazing at any one thing, but he’s a solid player across the board. He has few, if any, weaknesses. That’s what Lydon should be aiming for.

When he is around the team, he should push to be Millsap’s rook. Put in the work to show up early and leave late. Becoming a well-rounded player and a versatile defender could lead to a long NBA career for Lydon.
