4. Make 5-10 NBA appearances

Darrell Arthur, Kenneth Faried, Juan Hernangomez, Lyles, Millsap, Chandler. That’s who Lydon is looking up at to crack the rotation for the 2017-18 season. It’ll be tough for any of those aforementioned names to even get much time at center between Jokic and the newly-acquired Roy Hibbert. There just aren’t minutes to be handed out.

Now, there’s a very good chance the Nuggets eventually make a move with either Chandler or Faired. Still, playing time wouldn’t just fall from the sky should one of them depart.

The Nuggets’ playoff aspirations don’t help Lydon either. Denver will likely fight for one of the last few spots out West and doesn’t have time to play a rookie who isn’t ready. From all he’s shown, Lydon is a ways off. Probably a year or more away.

That should not discourage him, though. Even if he ends up in the G League, there’s no reason he can’t have his eyes set on making a few appearances. Injuries happen and if he can show his three-ball is falling, coach Michael Malone could call on him.
