Their new roster is greatly improved and a playoff team on paper. Taj Gibson is one of the new faces on the Timberwolves. Gibson is a new player to the Timberwolves but not entirely new to this team. He reunites with former head coach Tom Thibodeau and teammate Jimmy Butler. The trio spent five seasons together with the Chicago Bulls so they know each other very well. During those five seasons they had a combined record of 255-139.
The Timberwolves’ defense gets an instant upgrade with Gibson on the team. In addition to being an elite defender, he is a good rebounder and consistent scorer. During his career he has averaged 9.4 points, 6.3 rebounds and 1.3 blocks per game.
Taj Gibson is excited to be in Minnesota. He said the following at a press conference when he was introduced.
