3. Defensive Rebounds

During the 2016-17 season, Kelly Oubre Jr. averaged a minuscule 2.3 defensive rebounds per game. The year before that, he averaged just 1.7 rebounds per game.

While Oubre has made a slight jump in his stats, his rebounding numbers are still a non-factor compared to the other wing players on the roster. For instance, Otto Porter Jr. averaged 5.0 defensive rebounds per game and Markieff Morris averaged 5.1 defensive rebounds.

One of the best ways to see an increase in minutes is to impact the game in as many ways as possible. While Kelly Oubre Jr.’s 2.5 defensive rebounds a game isn’t nothing, it’s not enough to be considered good in that category.

If Oubre can contribute to the rebounding numbers just a little bit more each game, he’ll have a way heavier impact on the game, and might even see an increase in minutes.
